PGN Commits to Integrating Natural Gas Infrastructure and Services in Indonesia: Embracing Technological Transformation and Innovation

PT PGN Tbk, a leading natural gas company in Indonesia, is making significant strides in integrating natural gas infrastructure and services to promote the use of natural gas across the country. Through technological transformation and innovation, PGN aims to enhance the efficiency of its efforts to achieve seamless integration.

The company believes that technological innovation is key to realizing its vision of integrating natural gas infrastructure. As a Sub Holding Gas, PGN is dedicated to fulfilling the government’s aspirations for a comprehensive natural gas infrastructure network, including inter-island connections, transmission pipelines, and non-pipeline infrastructure. This initiative aims to ensure that domestic natural gas sources can effectively reach consumers nationwide.

During the 2024 Gasfest Conference, Laode Sulaiman, Director of Oil and Gas Planning and Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, highlighted the importance of infrastructure in utilizing abundant gas resources such as those in Andaman and Masela. He also mentioned the possibility of preparing LNG terminals to meet excess demand in the future.

With vast gas resources at its disposal, PGN is poised to revolutionize gas distribution technology to expand its reach and meet the growing demand for natural gas in Indonesia. The company’s focus on integrating natural gas infrastructure is expected to boost gas utilization in households, commercial and industrial sectors, as well as land and sea transportation.

As PGN celebrates its 59th Anniversary, it is intensifying its efforts to innovate in the Beyond pipeline era, catering to consumers in remote areas without pipeline access. The company sees great market potential in sectors like industrial and commercial activities in Central Java and East Java, with an estimated demand of 24 BBTUD.

PGN’s beyond pipeline infrastructure technology includes innovative solutions like LNG Microbulk, LNG Tabung, CNG Cylinder, and CNG Cradle. Future technological advancements will involve LNG Bunkering Vessel and modular mini Liquefaction Plant to further enhance gas distribution capabilities.

“We are committed to infrastructure integration through technological innovations and digital breakthroughs to achieve optimal efficiency levels,” said Suseno, PGN’s Group Head Engineering and Technology. The company has already implemented digital solutions like Digio, Sipgas, IMOC, PGN Partner, Rely On, and PGN Mobile for asset management, gas flow management, monitoring, and customer management.

In the rapidly evolving business landscape, PGN recognizes the importance of digital leadership in driving efficiency and transparency. The company has been at the forefront of digital transformation for the past decade and continues to explore new opportunities for technology adoption to meet the dynamic challenges in gas distribution and provide exceptional services to its customers.

As a key player in Indonesia’s gas sector, PGN’s technological advancements will play a crucial role in shaping the future of natural gas utilization in the country. Through innovation and integration, the company is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of the market and deliver sustainable energy solutions to all customers.
