Cleveland Clinic and IBM Host Cleveland Discovery & Innovation Forum to Explore Cutting-Edge Healthcare Research Powered by Advanced Technologies

Cleveland Clinic and IBM are teaming up to host the Cleveland Discovery & Innovation Forum, a groundbreaking event that will delve into the cutting-edge world of healthcare and life sciences research powered by high-performance computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and quantum computing.

Set to take place on April 23 at Cleveland Clinic’s main campus in Ohio, the invitation-only forum will bring together top leaders from academia, industry, and government to discuss the future of healthcare technology. Participants from prestigious organizations like the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, DARPA, and ARPA-H will join forces with Cleveland Clinic and IBM to explore a wide range of topics related to discovery, innovation, and technology in healthcare and life sciences.

The event will feature keynote addresses, fireside chats, and sessions covering biomedical breakthroughs accelerated by quantum computing, implementing AI for biomedical research, and promoting health equity through digital technology. Additionally, the forum will unveil the first companies selected for the Cleveland Clinic Quantum Innovation Catalyzer Program, aimed at leveraging quantum computing for healthcare advancements.

The Cleveland Discovery & Innovation Forum is part of a 10-year partnership between Cleveland Clinic and IBM known as the Discovery Accelerator. This partnership focuses on advancing biomedical research through high-performance computing, AI, and quantum computing. A significant milestone in this collaboration was the introduction of the IBM Quantum System One at Cleveland Clinic’s main campus last spring, marking the first quantum computer dedicated to healthcare research.

The Discovery Accelerator serves as the technological backbone for biomedical research within the Cleveland Innovation District, a collaborative effort involving the State of Ohio, JobsOhio, and Cleveland’s healthcare and higher education institutions to drive job creation, research acceleration, and workforce development.

This forum promises to be a pivotal moment in the intersection of technology and healthcare, shaping the future of medical research and innovation.
