Forge+Bond Introduces New CR All-Road Wheels for Road Cycling
Forge+Bond, a company well-known for its mountain bike rims, is now stepping into the world of road cycling with the release of its new CR all-road wheels. These wheels mark the company’s first foray into designing wheels for drop-bar bikes, incorporating their off-road expertise into a tarmac-ready product.
The CR all-road wheels come in two rim depths, 35mm or 45mm, with a wide 25mm inner width and 30.5mm external width. The range offers multiple builds, including a Shift variant with Forge+Bond’s own hubs or options with DT Swiss 350 and I9 Torch hubs.
One of the standout features of the CR wheels is the FusionFiber technology, a recyclable material that combines carbon fiber with nylon for strength and durability without added weight. This technology sets Forge+Bond apart in the market and contributes to a smooth and fatigue-reducing ride experience.
The CR wheels are designed with a focus on comfort while still delivering performance. The carbon lay-up minimizes vibrations for enhanced comfort, and the wheels are compatible with a wide range of tire sizes, from 28mm for road riding to 47mm for off-road adventures.
With weights starting at 1485g for the 35mm depth and 1550g for the 45mm depth, the CR wheels offer a balance of lightweight construction and durability. The pricing ranges from $1,250 for the Shift hub builds to $2,199 for the I9 Torch hub builds.
For road cyclists looking for a versatile and high-performance wheel option, the Forge+Bond CR all-road wheels offer a compelling choice. Explore the full range on Forge+Bond’s website and stay updated on the latest cycling tech news on the GCN website.
