Gender Disparities in Investment Preferences: A Linqto Survey Analysis
A new survey conducted by Linqto, a financial technology investment platform, has revealed significant gender disparities in investment preferences, particularly in emerging technologies. The survey, which included over 2,500 accredited investors from diverse backgrounds, shed light on how male and female investors approach the market differently, especially in areas like blockchain, cryptocurrency, and alternative investments.
According to the findings, 52.24 percent of male respondents have invested in blockchain and cryptocurrency assets, compared to only 26.01 percent of female respondents. Additionally, 43.64 percent of male investors are engaged with alternative investments this year, with over 30 percent allocating at least one-fourth of their portfolios to these assets. In contrast, only 23.27 percent of female investors have ventured into alternative investments, with 16.41 percent dedicating a similar proportion of their portfolios.
The survey also highlighted a significant disparity in confidence levels between male and female investors, with 48.57 percent of men expressing high confidence in non-traditional investment markets compared to just 26 percent of women.
Joe Endoso, CEO of Linqto, emphasized the growing interest in diversified investment strategies in light of recent market dynamics. He noted the demand for digital investments and alternative assets, particularly in sectors like emerging technology, artificial intelligence, and cryptocurrencies.
Overall, the survey found that 53.16 percent of respondents believe the tech space is where most of the action in secondary markets lies. Traditional investments remain prevalent, with 58.1 percent of respondents reporting exposure, while employer-related investments and crypto and blockchain-based assets also featured prominently in portfolios.
While stocks continue to be the primary investment choice for nearly half of respondents, around one-third have also ventured into the crypto and blockchain investment pool. With the investment landscape evolving rapidly, it is clear that gender disparities in investment preferences are a crucial factor to consider in shaping future investment strategies.
