NRL Hosts First Innovation Day for Industry to Foster Collaborative Partnerships and Advance Technologies
The U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) recently hosted its first Innovation Day for Industry, bringing together over 110 representatives from commercial companies to explore collaborative opportunities and discuss emerging technologies. The event aimed to accelerate the development of warfighter capabilities by fostering partnerships with industry partners.
NRL Commanding Officer Capt. Jesse Black emphasized the importance of collaboration in bringing new technology from the lab to the hands of American warfighters. The event focused on key areas of emerging technology such as space science, naval systems, biotechnology, energy, materials, and optical/laser technologies.
Industry attendees had the chance to engage with NRL scientists and engineers, as well as learn about successful technology transfer initiatives. A panel discussion highlighted a battery technology developed at NRL that was successfully transferred to a commercial context, showcasing the benefits of collaborative partnerships.
