Trimble Acquires Flashtract to Streamline Payment and Compliance Processes in Construction Industry

Trimble has announced its acquisition of Flashtract, a tech company specializing in streamlining payment and compliance information between construction general contractors and subcontractors. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Flashtract’s technology is designed to manage payment applications, lien waivers, and other compliance and billing documentation electronically, eliminating the need for back-and-forth communication and cumbersome document transfers. This acquisition will allow Trimble to offer contractors the ability to manage these workflows electronically through Trimble Pay, reducing manual work and improving compliance.

Lawrence Smith, vice president of construction management solutions at Trimble, emphasized the importance of secure and fast electronic management of payments and lien waivers in the construction industry. He stated that integrating Flashtract’s technology, now branded as Trimble Pay, with Trimble Viewpoint Vista ERP solution for construction will enhance the connected construction technology ecosystem.

The technology will be showcased at the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) National Conference in May 2024. Blair Chenault, co-founder and CEO of Flashtract, expressed excitement about joining Trimble and advancing their capabilities to help contractors make payments on time and streamline financial and compliance processes.

Overall, this acquisition marks a significant step towards improving efficiency and reducing risks in the construction industry by leveraging technology to streamline payment and compliance processes.
